There are intestinal parasites called pinworms (Enterobius vermicularis). Their appearance is more common during childhood. They are small white worms that can cause an itchy sensation, especially at night, which often interrupts the child’s rest.
For this reason, it is extremely important to learn how the infection occurs and how to prevent it; this is key to managing this problem properly. The infection begins when the microscopic eggs of the parasite are ingested. These can be found on toys, bedding, household surfaces, or even under fingernails.
