"It's not laziness, it's not exaggeration. It's real pain throughout the body. It's fibromyalgia."
What is fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition characterized primarily by widespread musculoskeletal pain and an exaggerated response to pressure in certain areas of the body. But it doesn't stop there: it can also cause extreme fatigue, sleep problems, cognitive impairment, and significant emotional distress.
It's called a "silent disease" because it doesn't leave visible scars like inflammation or wounds, but those who suffer from it can experience constant and debilitating pain.
