Don't Underestimate the Symptoms: Never ignore severe or unusual chest pain, even if it seems like "indigestion." A false alarm is better than an untreated heart attack. Don't try to drive yourself to the hospital; call an ambulance.
Compression-Only CPR Is Better Than Nothing: If you are not trained in CPR with rescue breaths or don't feel confident, perform only continuous, strong chest compressions. Hands-only CPR is highly effective and is recommended for the general public.
Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED): If an AED is available (in airports, shopping malls), USE IT! These are safe devices that provide step-by-step voice instructions. Turn it on and follow the prompts exactly.
