2️⃣ The Need to Control Everything 🎛️😣
As the years go by, the body changes, the pace slows, and the world moves faster than we'd like. Many older adults suffer because they try to maintain the same level of control they once had.
Wanting to control:
Adult children
Partners
Family
Life itself
generates constant frustration, unnecessary arguments, and a persistent feeling of powerlessness. 😤
Old age becomes much lighter when we understand that:
✨ Not everything depends on us
✨ Not everything has to go as planned
✨ Letting go of control is also a form of wisdom
3️⃣ Living Anchored to “What Should Have Been” ⏪😢
“If only I had done this…”
“If only I hadn’t made that decision…”
“My life would have been different if…”
These phrases become a mental prison in old age. 🧠🔒
Living by comparing reality to an imagined life leads to sadness, guilt, and constant regret.
The past cannot be rewritten, but the present can be lived with more peace. 🌅
Accepting your own story, with its mistakes and successes, is one of the greatest acts of self-love there is. ❤️
